Entry level science
Entry level courses are suitable for young and adult learners. They represent the first tier of the QCA Qualifications and Credit Framework and measure achievement below GCSE grade G. The qualifications contain a number of units, each one assessed separately so that steps of achievement can be recognised on the way to the full certificate. The units are available at one or more of the Entry sublevels 1, 2 or 3.
Entry level certificates in science subjects contain a number of units, each one assessed separately so that steps of achievement can be recognised on the way to the full certificate. Students cover the same programme of study as they would in the equivalent GCSE, but each topic is more restricted in terms of breadth or depth.
