Onscreen assessment tasks for ICT at key stage 3
Last updated: 28 September 2007
Following the announcement by Jim Knight MP earlier in the year that the key stage 3 ICT test was to be refocused, QCA has developed a bank of onscreen assessment tasks designed to be used flexibly by teachers to contribute to assessment for learning in information and communication technology (ICT) at any time during key stage 3. The key stage 3 ICT assessment tasks are taken onscreen by pupils and are automatically marked by a computer. Feedback is available to the pupil and their teacher as soon as the task has been completed. Teachers receive group reports as well as individual reports so that they can more easily plan for progression. The bank of key stage 3 ICT assessment tasks will contain tasks in each of the four key ICT activity areas: data handling, modelling, presenting and handling information and control. The first set of tasks will be launched at the end of October 2007.
